Our motivation for this project reflects the needs for the younger generation to have an active role in sustainable Europe, to get an overview of natural and cultural diversity, similar problems in different parnter´s countries and encourage communication and co-operation among various cultures in order to participate in decision-making, locally and globally.
OUR MISSION
Today's world is very different from the one that we knew 20 years ago. Technological progress, scientific advancements, increased globalisation and societal changes conjure up a new global landscape. Societies and economies are much more closely linked than before. The challenges we face have increased in number, complexity and magnitude, making sustainable development both an urgent and difficult objective to achieve
The goal of the project Green Skills for Global Change is to raise awareness of the students, regarding the limited natural resources of our planet and to actively participate in becoming a responsible citizen
Sustainable development is a priority in the 21st century, which implies that each member of the community/citizen gets knowledge on how to improve their perception regarding the economic, environmental, social problems, show commitment in active citizenship practice, in different ways from local to global, for a better sustainable world. In this way, the students and teachers will be able to aquire knowledge, values and tools neccessary to participate in decision-making within local and global communities in order to improve the quality of life without putting our future in danger
This topic allows for various approaches from different perspectives, using examples from 8 partner cultures
The first year of the project will focus on raising awareness and doing research locally. Research can deliver the tools for monitoring and assessing environmental and societal changes, while the second year will focus on acting locally and globally, giving the students the opportunity to become conscious of their role as active citizens, HANDLING the future of Europe
